AMERICAN USED AUTO PARTS LLC
Warranty Information
Warranty Terms
Coverage – Internal Components Only
Warranty coverage is strictly limited to the following internal engine components: Engine block, Cylinder heads, Pistons, Crankshaft, Camshaft, Rockers, and internal lubricated parts.
The following components may be supplied with the engine but are NOT covered under warranty under any circumstances: Switches and sensors, wiring harnesses and electronics, belts, hoses, cables, water pumps, gaskets and seals, and electrical or electronic components. Failure of any non-covered component does not constitute a warranty claim.
- Performance vs. Appearance (No Exceptions): AMERICAN USED AUTO PARTS LLC guarantees mechanical performance only. External condition and visual appearance are NOT guaranteed. Used engines may be up to 35 years old. External wear including rust, stains, discoloration, surface corrosion, oil residue, dirt, scratches, and signs of prior use are normal and expected. External appearance is not a valid reason for refusal, return, cancellation, refund, replacement, or dispute. Any appearance or condition concerns must be reported within 7 calendar days of delivery. DO NOT refuse delivery due to external condition or appearance. Refusal for appearance-related reasons will result in a mandatory 20% restocking fee, full two-way shipping charges, and no refund of shipping, handling, or processing fees.
- Warranty Duration: Warranty duration and coverage type for engines and transmissions are established at the time of sale and are governed solely by the Warranty Contract and Order Invoice. Other auto parts are covered for 30 days from the date of delivery. Warning: Any verbal statements or general marketing language are overridden by the written warranty terms confirmed at purchase.
- Warranty Claim Procedure: If a problem occurs, the customer must: Contact AMERICAN USED AUTO PARTS LLC immediately, stop operating the vehicle, do NOT dismantle, repair, or modify the product, and submit all required documentation (Order number, VIN, ASE-certified installation invoice, Diagnostic report, Photos/videos if requested). Warning: Retaining, operating, or failing to report a suspected defective product within 30 days may void the warranty.
- Warranty Resolution: For approved claims only, AMERICAN USED AUTO PARTS LLC may, at its sole discretion: Replace with a similar unit (subject to availability), OR issue a refund. Important Limitations: Labor charges are NOT covered. Refunds or replacements are limited strictly to the original purchase price. No compensation for downtime, delays, or associated costs.
- Returns, Cancellations & Restocking Fees: Cancellation within 24 hours of purchase is permitted only if the order has not been processed or prepared. Cancellation after 24 hours results in a mandatory 20% restocking fee. Once shipped, prepared, or dispatched, the order cannot be cancelled. Cancellation or refusal after shipment results in a 35% restocking fee and full two-way shipping charges. Shipping is covered only for approved warranty claims. Refusal of a warranty replacement is considered a voluntary cancellation, resulting in a 35% restocking fee and two-way shipping charges.
- Compatibility & VIN Verification: Compatibility is verified using a VIN-based fitment system. Incorrect vehicle information provided by the customer voids the warranty and requires the customer to pay the price difference plus two-way shipping. Refusal of a corrected replacement incurs a 20% restocking fee.
- Non-Refundable Deposits: Inventory hold deposits and special order deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances.
- Non-Transferability: This warranty applies only to the original purchaser, is non-transferable, and is valid only for the vehicle listed on the invoice.
- Limitation of Liability: AMERICAN USED AUTO PARTS LLC is not liable for downtime or inconvenience, towing or transportation, rental vehicles, loss of income or business, or direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Warranty Will Be Void If:
- Failure to Report Visible Issues: Failure to report visible issues within 7 days voids the warranty.
- Installation After 30 Days: Installation after 30 days from delivery voids the warranty.
- Missing Required Documentation: Missing required documentation (ASE-certified installation invoice, diagnostic report) voids the warranty.
- No ASE Diagnostic Report: If an ASE-certified mechanic doesn’t provide a diagnostic report for the issue, the warranty is void.
- Ignoring Pre-installation Requirements: Failure to follow our preinstallation checks will invalidate your warranty.
- Accidents, Misuse, Abuse, or Neglect: Used engines or merchandise returned for ‘return or replacement’ due to accidents, misuse, abuse, or neglect will void the warranty.
- Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications: If the used engine or merchandise is repaired or modified without our prior confirmation, the warranty is void.
- Overheating or Lubrication Failure: Any overheating or insufficient lubrication damage will void the warranty.
- Missing or Melted Heat Tabs: Returns of used engines missing merchandise or melted heat tabs will not be covered under warranty.
- Electrical or Electronic Issues: All electrical and electronic problems are excluded from warranty coverage.
- Oil Leaks from Seals or Gaskets: The warranty does not cover oil leaks caused by failed seals or gaskets.
- Product Returned Altered or Dismantled: Modifying or returning merchandise in a condition different from how it was received will void the warranty.
- Incomplete Troubleshooting: If complete troubleshooting steps are not performed to isolate the root cause of engine failure, or if the part is removed or dismantled before our inspection, the warranty will be void.
Transmission Warranty Policies
To ensure the validity of your transmission warranty, it is critical to follow these guidelines:
- Replace Filter, Pan Gasket, and Front Seal: Install a new filter, pan gasket, and front seal.
- Properly Seat Torque Converter: Ensure the torque converter is properly seated.
- Flush All Coolers and Lines: Thoroughly flush all coolers and lines of debris before adding new, manufacturer-approved fluid.
- Use Manufacturer-Approved Fluid Only: Use only manufacturer-approved transmission fluid.
- Replace External Sensors and Computers: Replace external sensors and computers as needed; these are not covered under the warranty.
- Complete Required Reprogramming: Complete all manufacturer-required reprogramming; failure to do so voids the warranty.
- Inspect Transmission Before RMA Approval: The transmission must be inspected in the vehicle before Return Authorization is issued.
CVT Transmissions
Proper installation is essential to maintain the warranty for CVT transmissions.
- Transmission Controller Replacement is Mandatory: For CVT units, transmission controller replacement is mandatory for proper operation.
- OEM Fluid Only: Always use OEM fluid from the dealer. Nissan CVTs require genuine Nissan fluid. Failure to use OEM fluid voids the warranty.
- Follow Manufacturer Installation Procedures: Follow all manufacturer installation procedures. Failure to comply voids the warranty.
