Return & Refund Policy

Last Updated: October 6, 2026

This Return & Refund Policy explains the conditions, procedures, fees, and timelines that may apply when returning a product purchased from American Used Auto Parts LLC. Please review this policy before completing your purchase.

1. General Return Guidelines

If you need to return an eligible product, you must contact American Used Auto Parts LLC and obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before sending the product back.

  • Return Window: Eligible standard returns must generally be requested within 30 days of the original invoice date.
  • Standard Return Condition: Products returned for reasons other than a warranty claim should generally be in substantially the same condition in which they were received and should not have been installed, disassembled, modified, painted, or otherwise altered.
  • Return Authorization: Customers must obtain an RMA before returning a product. Unauthorized returns may be delayed, refused, or returned to the sender where permitted by applicable law.
  • Proof of Purchase: We may require the original invoice, order number, customer information, photographs, vehicle information, or other reasonable documentation before approving a return.
Warranty claims are different from standard returns. A product that has been installed may still be eligible for review under the applicable Warranty Policy if a covered mechanical problem is discovered after installation. Standard return-condition requirements should therefore not be interpreted as automatically denying an otherwise valid warranty claim.

2. Restocking Fees

Approved non-defective returns may be subject to a 25% restocking fee where permitted by applicable law.

The restocking fee may apply when:

  • The customer ordered the wrong component.
  • Incorrect or incomplete vehicle information was provided by the customer.
  • The customer changes their mind after the product has been sourced or shipped.
  • The customer refuses delivery of an otherwise correct and undamaged product.
  • A non-defective product is otherwise approved for return.
IMPORTANT

The 25% restocking fee does not automatically apply when American Used Auto Parts LLC ships an incorrect product, approves a covered warranty claim, or where applicable law requires a different remedy.

Original shipping and freight charges are generally non-refundable on customer-requested or non-defective returns, except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed by American Used Auto Parts LLC.

3. Return Shipping Costs

Responsibility for return freight depends on the reason for the return.

Customer Error or Non-Defective Return

When a return results from customer error, change of mind, incorrect vehicle information supplied by the customer, or another approved non-defective reason, the customer may be responsible for return freight and related shipping expenses.

Incorrect Product Shipped by Us

If American Used Auto Parts LLC confirms that the product supplied does not match the product ordered or approved by the customer, we will work with the customer to arrange the appropriate return, replacement, or other remedy.

Warranty Claims

Shipping responsibility for a warranty claim is governed by the applicable Warranty Policy and the circumstances of the claim.

Please contact our support team before shipping any product back to us.

3

Once approved, we will provide the appropriate return location and instructions.

5. Freight Damage

Engines, transmissions, and other large components are commonly transported using commercial freight carriers.

Customers or their authorized recipients should inspect the shipment for visible damage before the carrier leaves whenever reasonably possible.

If visible freight damage is discovered:

  • Take clear photographs of the packaging, pallet, component, and visible damage.
  • Note the visible damage on the carrier's Bill of Lading or delivery receipt before signing, whenever possible.
  • Retain packaging and freight documentation.
  • Contact American Used Auto Parts LLC promptly and provide photographs and supporting information.
Signing a delivery receipt without noting visible damage may make a freight claim more difficult to establish. However, freight-damage claims will be reviewed based on the circumstances, available documentation, applicable carrier requirements, and applicable law.

6. Incorrect Product Received

If you believe you received a product different from the one specified on your order or invoice, contact us promptly before installing or modifying the product.

We may request:

  • Photographs of the received component.
  • Part numbers, casting numbers, or identification tags.
  • Your vehicle VIN.
  • Your original invoice or order number.
  • Additional information reasonably required to verify compatibility.

If we confirm that American Used Auto Parts LLC supplied an incorrect component, we will work with you to arrange an appropriate replacement, return, or refund as applicable.

7. Engine & Transmission Specific Conditions

Attached Accessories

Unless specifically stated otherwise on the invoice or written warranty, used engines are generally sold as engine assemblies.

Certain accessories or external components that may remain attached to an engine or transmission are included for convenience and may not form part of the warranted assembly.

Examples may include:

  • Water pumps
  • Sensors
  • Belts
  • Hoses
  • External wiring
  • Mounts
  • Manifolds
  • Other removable accessories

Exact warranty coverage is governed by the applicable Warranty Policy.

Heat Indicators / Heat Tabs

Certain engines may contain heat indicators or similar devices intended to help identify overheating conditions.

Evidence of overheating, tampering with a heat indicator, or removal of an installed heat indicator may affect warranty eligibility where the condition is relevant to the claimed failure and consistent with the applicable Warranty Policy.

8. Installed, Modified or Disassembled Products

Products that have been installed, modified, painted, internally disassembled, or otherwise altered generally are not eligible for a standard non-defective return.

This restriction does not automatically eliminate rights that may exist under an applicable written warranty or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

If a mechanical problem is discovered after installation, customers should follow the claim procedure described in our Warranty Policy before removing, disassembling, or modifying the component.

9. Refund Amount

The amount of an approved refund will depend on the reason for the return and the applicable policy.

Where applicable and permitted by law, deductions may include:

  • The applicable 25% restocking fee.
  • Original freight or shipping costs.
  • Return freight charges.
  • Other charges specifically disclosed and applicable to the return.

Deductions generally will not be imposed where a different remedy is required by applicable law or where we determine that the return resulted from an error attributable to American Used Auto Parts LLC.

10. Refund Processing

Once an authorized return reaches the designated return facility, it may be inspected to confirm the product's identity, condition, and return eligibility.

  • Inspection: Please allow approximately 3–5 business days after receipt for inspection and review.
  • Refund Processing: Approved refunds are generally initiated to the original payment method within 5–7 business days following approval, subject to applicable law.
  • Bank Processing: After we initiate a refund, additional time may be required for your bank, card issuer, or payment provider to post the funds to your account.

11. Returns That May Be Denied

To the extent permitted by applicable law, a standard return may be denied when:

  • The return request falls outside the applicable return period.
  • The product was returned without authorization or contrary to provided return instructions.
  • The product has been installed, modified, painted, altered, or internally disassembled and the request is not an approved warranty claim.
  • Damage occurred after delivery due to improper handling, storage, installation, misuse, neglect, or an unrelated vehicle condition.
  • Product identification marks, labels, serial numbers, VIN-related identifiers, or other identifying information have been intentionally removed or altered.
  • The returned product is not the same product originally supplied.

Nothing in this section is intended to eliminate rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Warranty Claims

A return involving an alleged mechanical defect, failure after installation, or other warranty-related issue will be evaluated under the applicable Warranty Policy rather than solely under the standard return rules described above.

Customers should not automatically ship a suspected defective component back without first contacting us and receiving claim instructions.

We may require diagnostic records, photographs, installation documentation, maintenance records, vehicle information, or other reasonable information necessary to evaluate a warranty claim.

13. Order Cancellations

If you wish to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible.

We will review the status of the order and determine whether cancellation is still possible.

Once a component has been sourced, processed, transferred to a freight carrier, or shipped, cancellation may no longer be possible and the transaction may instead be subject to the applicable return terms described in this policy.
